Live jazz at Cap Horn is nothing new. As early as the 1950s the restaurant hosted famous musicians, regular gigs and jam sessions when the jazz found its way to the old house in Nyhavn. A lot has changed since. But live music, a full room and people gathered around the table for a good dinner have, happily, lasted.
So we are inviting the jazz back into Cap Horn. Every other Thursday, in even weeks, a changing line-up of musicians plays while the kitchen sends out dishes and the glasses are filled. There are no fixed seats, and the jazz is part of the restaurant that evening, close to the tables, the conversations and the life around them.

Get into the Christmas spirit at Cap Horn when Sofie and her guitarist invite you to a warm, atmospheric evening on the theme “Home for Christmas”. The beloved melodies of the season get new life in intimate, jazzy interpretations where nostalgia, elegance and Christmas cosiness go hand in hand.
The repertoire ranges from classic American Christmas favourites to quieter, more reflective carols. An evening full of warmth, Christmas spirit and musical charm, where the candlelight and the familiar tunes create the feeling of being home for Christmas.
Step into the historic rooms at Cap Horn for an evening in the company of some of jazz’s greatest divas. Iben invites you to a musical tribute to the iconic female voices that have left an indelible mark on the history of jazz, from Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday to Sarah Vaughan and other strong personalities who brought the jazz songbook to life.
With Iben’s present, intimate vocal at the centre, the classic melodies get new life in interpretations where elegance, nerve and swing go hand in hand. The repertoire ranges from intimate ballads to sparkling jazz classics, with both the fragility and the strength that mark the music of the great jazz divas.
Come and settle in at Cap Horn when Rosa and her fellow musician transform the historic rooms with the biggest hits from the legendary Motown label. Look forward to intimate but deeply swinging jazz and soul interpretations of iconic songs by artists like Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross and Stevie Wonder. An evening full of warm grooves, catchy melodies and good energy.
Step into the warmth at Cap Horn for an evening wrapped in jazz from the North. The duo, double bass and piano, explores the lyrical landscapes Scandinavia is known for the world over. In a close musical conversation they weave the clear melodies of the piano together with the deep, organic sound of the bass: music with room for reflection, where every note is allowed to ring out in the historic rooms.
Dream yourself away to the narrow alleys of Rome and the warm breeze of the Amalfi coast when Paul invites you to an Italian jazz evening, where southern European charm and melodic nerve meet the improvisation of jazz. The repertoire offers beautiful Italian classics and jazz ballads, played with the passion and temperament Italy is famous for. Take a seat in the historic rooms and let the music carry you to the southern sun in the middle of October.
Expect an evening of warm rhythms, infectious energy and musical generosity when Sofie and Mathias invite you to bossa nova and Brazilian tones in Nyhavn. With the guitar as the engine and the vocal at the centre, the duo creates a lively, festive atmosphere it is hard not to get swept up in.
Where Sofie’s warm vocal meets Mathias’ nuanced guitar playing, the music is given room to breathe. The concert offers both Brazilian classics and jazzy interpretations, with the characteristic bossa rhythms framing an atmospheric, present experience.
Step into the historic rooms at Cap Horn and let yourself be carried to New Orleans when singer Nada and guitarist Armando invite you to an evening of jazz, warmth and southern atmosphere. Inspired by the legendary jazz city on the Mississippi, the duo interprets the melodies and moods that made New Orleans an iconic place in the history of jazz.
Nada’s light, playful vocal and Armando’s lively guitar playing create an intimate, swinging concert experience. The repertoire moves between elegant jazz ballads, bluesy tones and classic New Orleans-inspired numbers. The raw energy of Bourbon Street meets the laid-back mood of the harbour front.
Get into the Christmas spirit with a concert where the warm sounds of jazz meet some of the season’s most loved melodies. With his lyrical trumpet and his feel for the big tunes, Asbjørn invites the audience to an atmospheric December evening full of presence, nostalgia and musical Christmas cheer.
Inspired by the classic American Christmas traditions, familiar carols get new life in elegant jazz interpretations with room for reflection, swing and festive Christmas spirit. A concert experience that gathers the generations around the music.
